We honor God
Everything starts here. He gets our first and our best, not whatever is left once everything else has been handled.
The question the whole thing started with, and the one we are still asking.
A team of people got together and started meeting in a barn in El Dorado Hills. No launch strategy, just interest nights and a question: what does church look like if you stop following the playbook everyone else in America is following?
That is still the question. It is why the stage is not the point, why you will not get chased down, and why nobody here is the celebrity. District was a team effort from the barn on, and it stayed one.
These are the standards we hold ourselves to.
Nobody waits to be told. If a thing needs doing and you can do it, that is mandate enough.
Things go wrong here like they go wrong anywhere. We own it, take the lesson, and come back better rather than quieter.
Comfortable was never the goal. What worked last year is not automatically what we do next year.
This is what we teach and where we stand. If something here raises a question, ask us.
This church accepts the Bible as the revealed will of God and the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice.
We are clear about what we believe, including marriage and biological sex, so you know who we are before you walk in.
We believe that God is great: He is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love and above all, holy. It is in Him that we live, move and exist. God is good: He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, He hears and answers prayer, and saves all who come to Him through Jesus Christ and faithful to His people and His promises. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal parts of one God.

We believe that Jesus Christ is completely human but, at the same time, completely God. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles and teachings. He is the only plan for bringing people who are far from God back into a right relationship with God. He lived a perfect life, so that He could be a substitution for us in satisfying God’s demands for perfection. He defeated death in His resurrection so that we could have life. We believe in His ascension to heaven and eventual return to earth.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.

We believe that God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity. He exists as one substance in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority.

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to our daily lives and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

We believe that man is made in the image of God as the supreme object of God’s creation. God designed man to have fellowship with him, but man became alienated from God through disobedience. We are all born with a sinful nature and choose to sin against God. We’re incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through our own efforts.

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. God offers salvation to all who come to faith in Jesus Christ, repent of their sins, and are baptized into Him.

We believe that Jesus Christ gave two ordinances to the church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. We call this Dunked by Decision. It is an outward expression of an inward change, and the next step after Salvation: going public with your heart-felt commitment to Jesus Christ and following His ways.
We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for us to remember His death for our sins. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed until the return of Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Church is a local community of believers unified through faith in Christ. It is committed to the teachings of Christ and obeying all of His commands, and it seeks to bring the Gospel to the world. The Church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.

We believe that we were created to exist forever. We believe that forever is spent in one of two places: eternally separated from God because of sin, or in union with God because of His forgiveness and salvation. When you die, you will either spend eternity in heaven or hell. Eternal separation from God happens in hell. Eternal union with God occurs in heaven.
