District Ice returns the day after Thanksgiving

The season runs through the first week of January, the same window as every year. It is worth putting on a calendar now rather than discovering it in December.

It is the largest thing the District family does that is not a Sunday. More than thirty thousand people come through across the season — most of them neighbours who have never been to a service and are not being asked to attend one. They came to skate.

Which is why the volunteer list matters more than the marketing. Skate handling, the fire pits, the food window, parking, and lacing skates for small children. Slots open in the autumn and the good ones go fast.

The rink keeps its own site with hours, tickets and everything seasonal. If you want to help rather than skate, start with a connect card and say which shift sounds like you.
